Dubai Mall is quite popular, especially amongst visitors who are in town for the holidays. It serves as an entrance into Burj Khalifa and Dubai aquarium. There is so much entertainment going on at the mall. You can visit the cinema, go gaming or join the ice skating rink. Most times you’ll witness lots of fashion shows and live events within the mall. There’s also so much to eat and drink, you can always try something new. Two major festivals within the mall are the Dubai Mall festival that holds in January and February and also, Dubai Mall Summer Surprise Festival which is held in July and August.
3. Dubai Museum
The Dubai museum is another beautiful place in the city of Dubai, a must-visit if you are visiting for the first time. It is Located in Al-Fahidi Fort. The walls are built with blocks of corals, united by lime. The ceiling is made from a mixture of palm fronds, mud, and plaster. The Al-Fahidi Fort is a historic building, in the past, it was a seat of government and the residence of a ruling family. It was also once a prison and a garrison until it was converted to become a museum. As you enter the mall, you will be greeted by a display of maps of the Emirates and of the Dubai. The museum’s courtyard contains traditional boats, weaponry, and several musical instruments.
4. Dubai Creek
The Dubai creek demarcates the Deira town and Bur Dubai. People visit the creek to fish or to pearl dive. There is also the Dhow Wharfage that sits on the bank of the creek. Dhow workers act as guides inside the vessels, to tell tourist about the life of the sailors. You can visit the creek to watch how the cargoes are loaded or offloaded off the show.
This is the tallest hotel in the world, at about 321 meters tall. It sits in the middle of an artificial island, located along Dubai’s coastline. It is designed to look like a billowing dhow sail. At night the exterior is decorated with lights, a beautiful sight to behold. The hotel ranks as one of the most expensive in the world. You can still enjoy meals from its popular restaurants, the Al-Mahara restaurant or the California-style fusion restaurant. You can have afternoon tea at the Skyview Bar located on the 27th floor where you get to see beautiful and amazing views of the city.
